Walk of Game recognizes the legends, arcade stays open

walk of game

The Walk of Game is a path of stars in the same vein as Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. This year’s recipients were Nolan Bushnell, Shigeru Miyamoto, Link, Halo, Mario and Sonic. There were a few highlights. Bushnell used the opportunity to ask the game development community to help educate kids. It was heartfelt, and seemed like a good venue to talk about it. Then there was the Shadow the Hedgehog announcement, of course.

Finally, Gavin Newsom, the mayor of San Francisco showed up to give the ceremony an official stamp of approval.

In a moment of irony…While the mayor was lauding the game business, this guy was five feet away shooting at bad guys that look a lot like SWAT.
